After breakfast, Jason, Alex and Brandon walked to the football
field they saw yesterday. It was a nice day outside, warm and not
a cloud to be seen. There was a group of other kids on the field.
One of them walked up and itnroduced himself.
"Hey, my name's Steve. Do you play football?"
"Yeah," Alex said, "All of us do." Jason and Brandon nodded.
"Great! We were going to start a game but we were short a few players."
Steve said. "Do you want to join us?"
"Sure." Alex said.
"Come on, I'll introduce you to my friends." He walked back to the
group that was watching them. He started with the closet one.
"This is Jake, Sam, Ned, Gary, Mike, Hank, Dan and Bethany."
"I'm Alex, and this is Brandon and Jason."
"Okay," Steve said. "Now that we now everyone's name, you three will
be on Sam's team. Now let's start." Everyone got into position. Steve's
team consisted of himself, Ned, Mike, Gary, Dan and Bethany. Bethany
had dark blond hair pulled back into a ponytail. She was stationed
across from Jason.
"Do you play often?" He asked her. She smirked.
"Every chance I get. And you?" He smiled.
"Yes. As a matter of fact, I'm on the football team back home."
"Really? Then let's see how good you are." Steve called hut and
started the game. Jason was immeddiatly tackled by Bethany. He was
surprised by how strong she was. Alex came over to him.
"Are you alright?" He asked. Jason got up.
"I'm fine. She just caught me off guard. It won't happen again."
"I hope not," Bethany said, smiling. "Or else this game wouldn't be
any fun. And you're on a football team?" She teased. Jason blushed.
"This time I'll tackle you!" He said angerlly. The next play she
tackled him again, although it took a bit longer. Steve smiled and
walked over to where Jason was sitting on the ground.
"A lot of people underestimate my sister. She's stronger then she
looks." Jason nodded.
"That's for sure. Does she play any other sports?"
"Of course. She likes soccur and hockey." Jason nodded again.
"I bet she's one of a kind."
"Yes, she is." Steve said. "That's why she's on my team."
After the game, they went the ice cream shop across the street.
"We always do this after a game." Bethany said before taking a bit
of her ice cream. She and Jason seated themselves in a booth away
from from the others. Jason had offered to pay for her ice cream,
but she declined.
"So, where are you from?" She said.
"Bismin. It's a town in North Carolina. It's quite nice. I've
lived there all my life."
"I lived here my whole life too." She said. He leaned over.
"Then you must be well aqquinted with the resturants here. Which
one is the best?"
"That would definitly be Rosa's Cafe. I could show you where it
is."
"How about you show me tommorrow, at lunch? Just the two of us."
Bethany smiled.
"I'd like that."

"You certainly look like you had a good time." Alex remarked to Jason
as they entered the house.
"Yeah. Bethany's great." Jason said happily. Susan greeted them.
"It's about time you came home. We're going to have a barbique
tonight. Your Unlce Vince is coming over."
"So we'll finally meet your famous uncle tonight." Brandon said.
"Yeah. You two will like him."
