We travelled via ferry to two islands, the Herreninsel and the Fraueninsel ("Men's Island" and "Women's Island", respectively). It is on the Herreninsel that you'll find another one of King Ludwig's castle, known as Herrenchiemsee. Modeled after Versailles, it is a miniature homage to King Louis XIV, whom King Ludwig admired. |
