You said you'd always be there for me,
Always love me, care for me.
You said I'd never be alone,
That this was a promise forged in stone.
You said our friendship would last forever,
That it was a bond no one could sever.
Now you're letting it slowly slip away,
More distance with each breaking day;
And for the sin of blind belief,
I'm left alone, dissolved in grief,
Learning that what you say's not true,
But that the truth lies in what you do.
