Well, Tempus does indeed fugit.
And here almost eight
years have passed since I
began my little home page.
It was in the P.Y. days---P.Y.
means "Pre-Yahoo"---
and we in GeoCities had a
very close-knit
community.
(I don't want to say anything
against Yahoo, but
if the right side of their
pages get any thicker, you're
going to have to consult
a chiropractor
in order to read the
left side.)
Anyway, a good many references
you will find go back
to a quiet, more innocent
time on the Internet when
we had hundreds of Home Pages
just like mine
telling the world about
our lives, our dreams
and our hopes. (We
called them Home Pages;
now they call them Blogs.)
It was a lovely, all too
brief period---
before we were smothered
in pop-up ads
and our mail boxes were stuffed
with testimonials
for Viagra and methods of
enlarging your
you-know-whats (which, I
must add, Spencer
certainly does not need).
So, as you wend your way
through my little
web site, imagine you are
back in 1997 when
the WWW was as close to heaven
as
you were likely to get.
P.S.: They took away my Guestbook
so you can
neither view it nor sign
it. The only alternative
is to e-mail me by clicking
the graphic below:
...and in case you never saw
it...
I got the most marvelous
review in
Amber's
Column in The Award Zone
God bless you, Amber, and
may all
the best things in life be
yours.
