The Referendum

OK, at the moment the referendum is really ticking me off.
That 'Yes' guy is really getting me annoyed with all their campaigning.
There is so much money put into these useless projects, I could think of 1000 better uses. I say useless because as far as I can see there is nothing wrong with our current system of government. And then there's the money spent if we do become a republic. I don't just mean the coins but little things, for example, the police uniforms. Even the little buttons have: ERII printed on them. I don't mean to sound biased, I mean, I can see it from both points. The Queen is pretty much nothing to us. I mean, I do like her youngest grandson and many teenage girls like her middle grandson (Princess Anne has a son called Peter who's 22) and William of course (I can't see it myself). but that's about it really. I think all this campainging is actually turning alot of people of. If I see that scrawly little 'yes' symbol in the sand one more time I'm going to throw the telly out the window! Also, lately I've been working in an Op Shop as Community Service. God, you get cheapskates in there, but that's beside the point. Last week we had this brazen woman come in. When she was getting out money I could see her Labor membership card peeping out and immediately I thought "She must be right into politics and all that" and then almost a split second later she said (well, yelled cos even the ladies out the back heard her) "Everyone voting for Republic on Saturday?" In fear of getting into a fight I just gritted my teeth and said "Oh yes, of course". While inside I was thinking "Who the hell does she think she is? Airing her opinions out to the world - no-one even gives a damn what she thinks anyway!". Not to say I'm against a Republic. I'm just not for it either.
