Every day he kept seeing new parrots he didn't know.
He didn't know how many different kinds of parrots there were in Perth anymore.
He tried to count them on his toes. He counted two on the front of his left foot, then two more on the front of his right foot. Then he tried to count two on the back toes of his left foot.
He turned himself so far around trying to see his back toes that he fell over.
But when he had counted all his toes, he had only counted.... two plus two plus two plus two ... which makes eight. And he knew there were lots more kinds of parrots than that.
