Children O' the Fae
Or
My dad can beat up yer dad, `cause he's sounds like Top Dollar.

ELL, the Toxic One ain't written much lately, on account of me thinkin I'd said all there was to say about elves from my perspective. Plus, I just don't get enough hate mail or requests to write more. Well I was wrong (ask my ex's how often I find myself sayin that). To wit, I'm gonna discus somethin much on my mind, the second generation of Awakened fae.

Ya see, my pop is an irascible old Changeling, who is both Awake and aware that his son is a friggin elf. Now mind you, the old man never even hinted to what he is or I am, but he also never discounted the metaphysical, and always encouraged me to develop my mystical side. Also he lives life by his terms and lets me live by mine. As such, while it did take me years to figure out my identity as an elf, I never cared if people thought I was crazy for it either.

Now from my own experiences, I'd say that offspring such as myself have a pretty good grip on reality, though growing up takes forever. If ya know that there's somethin fey about yer parent(s), it's a little easier to accept that yer not precisely human. So ya feel less need to emulate fictional and mythological paradigms to validate your existence as an elf. The attitude is, ok, I'm a pointed ear bastidge, what's fer breakfast?

At this point some of the less toxic fae out there are cringing at the thought of raising Kyrin-esque children. No such (bad) luck, people. The fact is yer kids will probably be well adjusted, if ya don't try ramming yer paradigm down their throats. Though, in all likelihood, they'll probably see this reality as home, and not suffer from homesickness.

So there ya go, yer hope for the future. If I ever reproduce, maybe I'll be able to tell ya what third generation fae'll be like. Now stop lamenting to the gods that I may spawn. I said IF.
