Visiting the Oyster Middens at Glidden Point
A close view of the base of the oyster middens... dating back nearly 3000 years, these middens represent centuries of Native American oyster catching and processing along the shores of the Damariscotta River.
A quiet freshwater pond reflects the serenity of the area and provides a fitting end to the walk along the Heritage Trail.
