THAILAND

At the feet of a huge reclining Buddah.

A carving in a living tree.

Pui at the Ancient City, a sort of replica of Thailand's national treasures in miniature.

A group of monks at the Ancient City.

The beach at Ko Chang, as seen from the porch of my little hut.

Pui & her friend at the floating market.

My favorite picture from Thailand.

My arrival at East Rai Leh Beach in a wooden long boat. The Krabi peninsula is nothing but jungle, limestone, beaches and a handful of resorts. No roads, accessible only by boat.

Sunset at West Rai Leh Beach.

My second climb. I'm that small speck toward the top.

My climbing teacher, belaying.

Princess Beach, walking distance from Rai Leh.

Claudine & Nadav, my fellow climbing student.

Matthias, with his French climbing partner, whom he never got to climb with. (?)

A row of long boats on the beach.

Wondering if I don't just want to stay on the Krabi peninsula for the remainder of my trip.

Doi Suthep, in Chiang Mai.

Monks in prayer at Doi Suthep.

One corner of the temple compound.

Ornate doors at Doi Suthep.

What wat, I'm not sure. Somewhere in the vicinity of Chiang Mai.

Again, I have to look at my notes (left in America) to figure out what wat this is.

Temple ruins near Chiang Mai.

Mystery wat.

I want whatever this Buddah had. This was taken at a Chinese temple.

The guides for my 3-day jungle trek.

Said guides, chilling out in the hut with moonshine & traditional Thai songs.

The elephant ride. I had to be "one" with the great beast in order to just stay on. It was so great!

A Lahu tribeswoman, in traditional dress.

One of the village children at play on the half-finished rafts.

The raft ride back to modern civilization.

At the Grand Palace, back in Bangkok.

Details of the Grand Palace.
