Van Demon's Land: Caution! Writer at work

Van Demon's Land is the title of my (as-yet) unpublished first novel. It's a play on Van Diemen's land, which was a reference to Australia and New Zealand in the days when those countries were used as prisons by Great Britain. It's also a song by U2. I thought it made a nice name for my domain here. No, I won't be posting that novel here. It's very good, though, and I am trying to get it published. Instead, I envision this as a sort of "test-run" facility. About every month or so, I'll put up something different here. Could be fiction, poetry or just a tirade about the injustice of parking meters. I invite your comments. Those of you who are writers will understand why a) I want no one to know my true identity (my friends can be honest--as can my enemies) and b) that I am taking a huge risk here in exposing my "children" to the cruel whims of humanity. While these pages are textually intensive, I have tried to use graphics in an understated and tasteful way to make your experience easier. Please enjoy, and don't leave without saying "Hello."
