	The Gentlemen's DOMAIN AN-J-3 Flight Jacket In the early years of the Second World War, U.S. aviators in each branch of the Armed Forces wore separately designed flight jackets. To reduce costs and speed up production, a joint task force created a standardized jacket that could be fitted for use by all branches. The result was the AN-J-3, introduced in 1943, which combined the best features of the Air Force A-2 and the Navy G-1. The AN-J-3a, modified for Naval aviators, featured two front patch pockets, leather collar, underarm gussets to ease vertical movement, bi-swing back for better lateral movement, and an interior pocket placed behind the zipper. This exclusive USA-made Gentlemen's DOMAIN reproduction is true to the spirit of the original, but we've made a few modifications of our own. The original AN-J-3a was made of rough goatskin; ours is made of supple French lambskin, pre-shrunk and vegetable-dyed, which conforms to the shape of your body and instantly bestows a lived-in feel.
