STEVE SAWICKI'S Bio Plus

More info than you'd ever want to know, presented in a tidy, yet well written, fashion. This page also contains information concerning those magazines where my writing has appeared and which are now dead. There is no relationship between the two by the way.

WHO ME??

Born and raised in Connecticut on a stark and stormy night. Moved steadily West with the sense that by the year 2124 I would be in Eastern New York. I have, however, been forced East twice and therefor don't anticipate New York until sometime after 2150 now. I've been writing since 1987 (well, I've been writing longer than that but it was in 1987 that I started to make serious attempts at being a word wrangler), and in any case, it was a dark and stormy night when I made the bold decision to quit my jobs and survive by my wits and writing skill. After starving for two years I realized that the plan needed some fine tuning and, on a, yes, you guessed it, I went back to the real world of work. Since that time I've written quite a bit (see reference points scattered about here) and I've also have the typical writers variety of jobs. Suffice it to say that I've had not only a long and distinguished career in social services but that I also model, have worked for UPS, RGS, a tennis club, a book store, a machine shop, a radio station and other places too painful to remember. I used to live in a 150 year old haunted house but traded that in for a brand new one that I built in New York. I garden profusely, have four cats, a bird skull, a badger skull, a buffalo skull, a mouse skull, a snake skin, a fox fur and am energetically continuing a twenty year love affair with auto racing (Formula 1 primarily but most open wheeled). Two years ago I got my CART competition license and actually scored 4 points in the Eastrern Barber Dodge Championship. I used to spend a great deal of time hunting the wiley trout (63 days in a row at one time) and plan to get back into that habit soon.
