More Stories! More Tails!

The Arcade

hundreds of music tunes
clashed together
players met there
despite the weather

their eyes were blurred
from the screen
shooting bandits
that were mean

the aliens struck
the race cars crashed
the pac-man was eaten
the fighters were lashed

so the players:
John, Bill, Joe, and Ben
entered a coin
and tried again

The Duck Who Said "Moo"

There once was a duck
who only said "moo"
the farmer knew it was
too bad to be true

more to it though
it got worse by the day
it started to walk
in a cows' sort of way

and then one day
after about a week
it swished flies away
with the use of its beak

and the farmer
heard the duck say
"I'm tired of cows,
I'm beginning to neigh"

Chicken-Little in Never-Never Land

Chicken-Little was doing her chores
oh my it seemed to be such a bore
when all of a sudden excitement came
via the kid-uh what's-his-name?
Ah, yes he was Peter Pan
who said he came from Never-Never Land
Chicken-Little thought she saw him fall from the sky
but she remembered the story of when he was a little guy
"You have won a trip to a far off land,
to get there Chicken-Little, take my hand"
clasping hands they flew away
Chicken-Little figured she'd be back another day
she landed in an apple tree
she said "This isn't where I want to be"
Peter laughed and smiled and said
"You may not like it, but you're well fed"
the day was going fast when they looked
and Peter Pan saw the Captain Hook
when the fight was done, Peter Pan
took Chicken-Little out of Never-Never Land
they came back home and on the grass they fell
and now Chicken-Little has a new tale to tell

Ants of Battle II

a long time later
since the ant war
new ants burying ants
had become a chore

the line of dead ants
seemed to be endless
the blood from the battle
was quite a mess

the ants were buried
with little care
graves were scattered
and needed repair

the last ant they buried
was the one who freed ants then
they took a last look
and hoped it wouldn't happen again

The Junk Yard

miles of trash
stacked up high
unwanted things
reached to the sky

a chair
a bench
a hammer
a wrench

a few cans
a bottle or two
a model plane
that never flew

remember the 3 r's
reduce, recycle, reuse
instead of making so high
this pile of trash and refuse

The Train's Fateful Ride

the train it went a-chuggin
a-chuggin it did go
the riders wished it'd ride
as fast as it did slow

a-chuggin up the mountain
a-chuggin to the top
a half ways up the mountain
the train it did here stop

the riders they did yell
the riders they did shout
they were stranded on the mountain
and all they did was pout

so the brakes were unlocked
it a-chugged the other way
it slipped off the tracks
and is no more today
