Stories and Tails

Ants of Battle

ants of battle
swarm with alarm
a civil war
in the ant farm

species against
its own ant-kind
the dying ants
are left behind

when one side leads
more ants come
to battle their lives
for more freedom

a single ant
is left barely alive
his final words
freed his side

the war was done
one side was free
the prize they won
they didn't live to see

Billy the Hillbilly's Teeth

Billy the Hillbilly all old and bent
Arrived at my office for his appointment
He would have come even if he hadn't been sent

Here he was at my door that read: The Dentist
The yearly visit was at the top of his list
It was this shop he would always miss

His sparkling teeth probably didn't need my care
He looked kinda funny- perfect teeth, tangled hair
so I told him he didn't have to just stand there

He strode into the room and relaxed on the seat
He opened his mouth that was perfected so neat
And started to tell me about his friend Pete

I started with the x-ray and then the toothpaste
he rinsed while I checked the next thing to face
I got my counter and I noticed his teeth looked erased

I asked my suspicion and it was the case
he didn't have a brush so he would erase
so I gave him a brush in his own little case

He left the room with a smile of never before
holding the case he shut the door
With people like him life's never a bore

The Lumberman

The lumberman slept 'neath the starts
without the noise of bustling cars
his heart pounded a small bound
and slept to the songs of the tooth fairy

Bug Muncher

The little turtle sulked around
not a single bug could be found
he looked high
he looked low
but he couldn't find any bugs
those tiny scrawny little thugs
he looked left
he looked right
then he saw one on his right
a little fly was now in sight
he ate fast
he ate slow
then he came to the bug core
so he stopped and looked for more

The Lazy, Red Car From Vermont

Riding along the 87 route
a certain car came on out
it was the lazy red car from Vermont
its license read D.BONT
it was maroon and idle
(you probably guessed that from the title)
it rode along so slowly it seemed barely alive
I thought about the fun to drive
and how I wouldn't want that car
cause it probably wouldn't take me far
