It was FABULOUS the day I saw the Unicorn! I'm not saying I don't believe in them or anything, I am just saying it was very surprising and wonderful to actually SEE them.

It was Christmas Eve the day I saw it. I was walking through a beautiful meadow through light green grass at about 7:30 in the morning. There were no sounds except the birds singing and the sound of the leaves rubbing gently against each other in the breeze. That is when I saw her.

It was a shimmering Unicorn. She has a coat as white as freshly fallen snow; and a swishy, soft, flowy, light brown tail, and her HORN . . . what a glamorous horn she had!!! It was white with light pink, yellow, and baby blue sparkles, and she had incredible light blue eyes. It was truly very pretty.

"Hello!" she said, "My name is Sparkles!" I was speechless for about 10 seconds. "Hi! My name is Alexandra - What's yours, Sparkles?" I was so shocked I didn't know what I was saying.

We talked for a while - about how no one ever saw Unicorns. Sparkles told me it was because once, a long time ago, a person took one of Sparkle's relatives and studied him to try to understand the Unicorn's magic. No one ever saw that Unicorn since - and they were NOT going to let THAT happen again. So that is why they usually don't let people see themselves.

"If you want, Alexandra, you can go ahead and climb up on my back and I can show you where I live."

"Oh yes! That would be WONDERFUL" I responded. So I climbed on her back, she counted to three, then all of the sudden I felt like I was standing on a bunch of pillows.

"Where are we?" I questioned.

"In my home." Sparkles replied.

"But where ARE we?" I asked.

"In the clouds." She said.

"WOW" I exclaimed.

"So . . . would you like to meet some of my friends?" Sparkles asked.

"Yes - Please" I said.

Sparkles counted to three again and a bunch of Unicorns appeared. There were little ones, big ones, black ones, white ones, ones with big horns, ones with small horns, some with white horns, some with black horns.

I was having so much fun that a few hours had gone by and I didn't even notice until it started to get dark.

"Sparkles - I would really like to stay, but I really have to get home. My Mother is probably worried about me."

"Okay," replied Sparkles.

"One ... Two ... Three."

I spun around again and landed back on the grass in the meadow and walked home in a very good mood.

"Where have you been Alexandra?" asked my Mother.

"Oh, just playing in the meadow with some friends" I replied with a smile.

Since then - every Christmas Eve - If I look up into the clouds - I can see Unicorns playing happily together and I thank Sparkles for that special day.
