I once fell in love with a fairy girl. She took my hand and told me of
herself. She said that she was born in field of flowers with her heart
so free. She was born with golden hair and white skin as all fairy girls
are. "You and me, we are different you see." she said to me "I was born
of magic and fantasy while you were born from your mothers womb." I said
I didn't care and that I loved her still. "You could never love me
truly." she said with tears in her eyes. I held her in my arms and told
her I could. She gave me one last kiss and vanished into the air with
three last echoing words "I love you." I went home and slept dreaming
of my fairy love, of her golden hair that shone as the sun and of the
jokes she used to play on me. When I awoke early in the morning I
thought of her again and found that I did love her true. I did not eat
my morning meal for I ran out the door with barely enough time to grab
my hat. I ran to the place where we used to meet and called her name. I
hoped she would she would appear as she always did with a smile on her
face and a flower in her hair. But the words blew through the air like
the sweetest of breezes and not a one gold haired fairy appeared. I
stood for a time I knew not how long waiting for my fairy one. When I
almost died of lonesomeness, I looked around. I saw something I never
had seen before this day. I saw some vines, parted to the side.
Uncovered under the vines was a door, a door so small. I opened it and
looked in. I saw a dark room, with nothing inside. I followed it in, for
that was my only choice. If I should perish, I would not mind, for
without my fairy love my life meant nothing to me. I followed the dark
passage for minutes alone and came out to an amazing sight. It was the
fairy land bright and beautiful. I saw my fairy loves home just as she
said it was like. I went in the door and saw a fairy family playing
together with smiles so bright and hearts so light. But my fairy love
was off to the side, no smile so bright her heart not light with tears
on her cheeks. When she saw me, she asked me what I was doing here and
how I got here. She told me that I would never go back if I did not get
out now. I told her I loved her and would not leave until she knew it
to. She screamed That I could never love her and that in truth she hated
me. Then she knew that the words she said were not true. She started to
cry and collapsed to the floor. I brought her into my arms and told her
that I loved her true and that I knew she loved me too. She said that
she believed me and would never leave me. Then she said that the other
fairies would not let me leave now for I had stayed too long. I told
that I cared not for I knew not one soul there and here I had all I did
need including my one and only fairy love. I knew we would always be
together and would never part. I knew that our love was true and that it
always be between my fairy love and me.
