Who is this Woman? |
If a picture paints a thousand words then the picture says it all. That's me, Karen-lisa Krueger, and my black and white overo American Paint Horse MDP Mini Max McCue. |
I live a few miles outside of Bemidji, Minnesota on a small farm with my family, horses, cats, dogs, chickens and assorted other critters. I raise, ride and train American Paint Horses. Bemidji is the First City on the Mississippi River and home to the famed statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. It's also home to Bemidji State University where I am a student Majoring in English with an Emphasis in Writing. In my spare time I write poetry and essay. I've been published a few place but that's not what keeps me writing. I write because I know no other way. I write because I find who I am in that writing. And I write to find out what I know about the things around me. Most of my writing involves the natural world. The lakes and forests of northen Minnesota are abundant in material, lessons and answers to most of lifes questions and troubles. I also dabble in acrylic painting, quilting (I'm a purist and only quilt by hand) and a form of Scandnavian needlework called Hardanger. I sing and am a member of the Bemidji Chorale. I keep pretty busy with my family, horses and other activities. I don't spend much time in front of a TV unless its with X-Files or watching my beloved Green Bay Packers. I came from just a little ways north of Chicago, Illinois. I wasn't born and raised a farm girl but always had aspirations of such and this is what I found here in Minnesota on a plot of 15 acres I call home. If there is anything else you need to know about me...I suggest you look to my writing for that is where I find myself. |
