Diary of a Pazonova
Week 9: 26th April - 2nd May 1999
¡un boleto a casa!

I finally have a ticket to go to Mexico! I was beginning to think that I was never going to make it. Now I know I'll be going back I feel more optimistic about life in general. Although I've been working hard this past week (nearly 70 hours) I think it's all worth it because it's all for a reason, and that's to see K. There are only 25 days until I see her again, and that's something which makes me really, really happy.

The rest of the week's been hectic, but due to work, or my greed for work. I worked a few evenings and a couple of days in the two restaurants I work at, and overtime on Friday at the office job I had. The office job was quite strange, we were having to phone people back who'd left messages, and one of the supervisors came round with yet more messages. She stopped, looked at me, and asked me when I'd started - when I told her I'd started at eight in the morning, she practically ordered me to have a break. I looked at my watch and realised it was then eight in the evening!

I'm conscious that these entries in my diary are getting shorter and shorter. I think that's mainly because I've been working so much that there's really not much to say. I've also started trying to read things in Spanish, as I bought a bilingual edition of Neruda's poetry the other day. I think they're very beautiful poems, and K loves them too. She wrote and told me that his verse is a proof of the beauty that is the Spanish language, and I tend to agree.

Hopefully I'll have more to say next week, as I'll be going up to see some friends from university. Two of them have got married, so I'll have to congratulate them in person. They're both wonderful people, and it makes me happy to know they're happy together. I can't wait for K and I to be together soon!
