I'm sitting around the other day, doing all of those wonderful things that I do when I'm sitting around, like painting and drawing, when a friend of mine comes over and says

"HEY! I can't get my web page to do anything!
Please, please, please show me how to do some of that HTML stuff!"

I looked at her for a moment

and then laughed at her and said... "What makes you think I know anything about HTML???"

"Because, you made a home page that is pretty cool, and you're pretty cute." Then she smiled.

So,

A Beginner's Guide to HTML
This is a very good beginner's toolbox and is broken down into 3 parts for the ease of downloading. I strongly reccomend this as must reading for everyone starting out on HTML.

How Do They Do That With HTML?
Another really good source of information! They have the beginner's stuff, as well as some of the more advanced tricks of the trade. Again, another source worth reading.

HTML Goodies
Lots of little goodies here. Some basic understanding of the HTML code, as well as a plethera of gifs that you can paste all over your page.
