I was gifted with the book "Your Body's Many Cries for Water"
byF. Batmanghelidi I have been astounded by the research that this gentlemen has compiled. How diseases (acute and chronic)i.e. Colitis, Hiatis Hernia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Low Back Pain, Anginal Pain, High Blood Pressure, Excess Body Weight,
Asthma and Allergies, and Insulon-Dependent Diabetes...to name jsut a few, are the results of dehydration that we have put our bodies through.
DID YOU KNOW?
Water...It makes up 40%-60% of an individual’s body mass and covers over two-thirds of
the world's surface. No doubt about it, without it, we would perish!
Doctors tell us water is necessary for the body's total overall well-being and fitness. Every cell
process in the body requires water.
Unfortunately most of us do not realize how important water is and consequently do not drink
enough of it. We all need to become better educated about what we should and should not put
into our bodies. Doctors tell us we should drink at least eight glasses (or about 64 ounces) a
day or more.
U.S Olympic diving hopeful Dean Panaro tells us"...I train six days a week, 6 hours a day, I
am not only in the water...I drink water." Dean, like most professional athletes understands the
importance of water. As the body exerts energy, it loses water through perspiration.
Drinking water before any activity will help keep your heart rate and body temperature lower.
It'll also give you some fluid to spare. While exercising, continue to drink water every 20 to 30
minutes to replenish the fluid you are losing. After you are finished, drink more, even if you are
not thirsty, because when your heart rate is elevated, the body loses water more rapidly.
Water is also the ultimate beauty product. Ask any model and she will tell you "Drink Water!"
Even the most expensive makeup will not help if your skin in not hydrated. To quote an expert,
Liz Verbruggen, from the Spa at Doral in Miami, Florida says, "That's the secret of youthful
skin, to keep it translucent-looking. Water plays a big factor." Water is said to flush away
impurities that cause skin problems. It also helps to clean our system.
