4-D is a progressive duo, techno-electro group based in Osaka, Japan.
Lead by Kenji konishi , they have created somewhat of a stir throughout the country whilst steadily building up a modest following.

GROUP HISTORY
4-D originally started in 1979 under the name "Dada" . Theband line-up has changed over the years, but has always included Kenji at the helm. It was during the recording of their second L .P. , after doing extensive touring and releasing their first,that they changed the name to 4-D. Since then they have made a total of eight Flexidisc singles and one 6-track L.P. Five of the singles were pressed as give-aways for Fans at gigs, and the other three were sold locally. The 1,000 copies of each, which were released on their own label "P.h." , sold out.In 1985, they brought out their first L.P. "A Style of Building" on Telegraph Records (a Japanese Label ) . Throughout they have made annual tours of the major cities of Japan, playing clubs, colleges, and small halls. Their stageshow sometimes includes the use of columns of T.V. screens showing computer graphics that move in-sync to the music. The next 4-D tour will kick off around early '98 and will include Tokyo , Nagoya , and Osaka.
It are secret pics of 4-D live equipments in '94. Kenji Use AKAI samplers thru Lexicon Prime Time,Rev5 and Roland Chorus Tape Echo. Samplers controlled via Poly800 invert colour version. His left hand was custom made MIDI glove with special program run on MSX computer. Also he controlled Fairlight CVI.. I guess sequence software "Performer" run on Apple power book. The Drummer,Mishima played Slingerland Drums. -Zen Circle. |
