Infrequently asked questions

bullet Why write poetry?

I have endured many mental convolutions trying to explain to myself my need to write poetry.  In the end, the best reasons are very simple.

I write news stories every day  for a small newspaper in south-central Wyoming.  I also write an occasional freelance piece.  I enjoy writing essays.  I enjoy writing fiction; although I have yet to published any.

bullet Where do you live?

I live in Rawlins, Wyoming, which lies next to the continental divide and is, therefore, part of the backbone of America.

bullet How can I contact you?

You can contact me by referring to the information on my contact page.

bullet Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Montana.  I am a ranch boy who has lost his way, so I now survive in small towns

bullet Why did you build this Web site?

bullet Are you religious?

I pray to God fervently every day, but I am not religious.  I got a very large dose of religion during my childhood.  My family belonged to a Pentecostal church, and we praised God in church three times a week -- more than that during revival meetings.  In the end, I had an allergic reaction and walked away.  When God finally found me for real, I was on a naked hillside in the Montana badlands, and there were no church steeples to be seen.

bullet What is the essence of life?

Darned if I know.
