Here is the story of Rainbow Rose and how much she loves flowers and how they are so plentiful out in the country where she lives.  Rose lives in a house owned by her mother Carol.  Carol also owns many acres of forest.  There are paths through the forest.  It rains and it snows in the forest.  And in the early summer Rainbow Rose smells the wet pedals of the roses while she plays in the forest collecting wild flowers.

Five-year old Rose loves the dampness left by the rain.  Rose believes that the rain left behind a rainbow for the flowers in the forest to grow back again.

Rose sings a song as she walks the path close to her house; ”Violets are Blue.  Daisies are Margaret’s. Lilies smell like my hair.  Roses smell like my dress, Carnations are as white as my skin.”

The trees where Rose lives are great and the green leafs block out the sun.  Rose and her puppy Pedals take walks everyday.  And Rose and Pedals like the shade form the leaves of the trees around them.

Rose can count to twenty.  She collects twenty daisies to bring home.  The next day she brings home twenty-five flowers.  Picking flowers is how Rose learned how to count.

Rose’s mother Carol loves plants and flowers too.  Carol grows a garden and has fresh cut flowers in vases around the house.  Rose was told by Carol not to pick the wild roses in the forest for they have many thorns.  Carol tells Rose to go pick the flowers in the forest and not to pick the ones in her garden.

Rose asks her mother one-day why she chose her name.  Carol answered, ”that one day when she gets older, she might own a flower shop.  And that a rose means love.” “One day”, thought Rose, “ one day I’ll sell roses and every type of flower there is.”

Rose wishes her bouquet of flowers, were as nice, as her mothers.  Rose tries to pick long stemmed flowers.  She walks to a pond and picks waterlilies in knee deep water.  ”If only I could visit a tropical island,” thinks Rose, “that would make my bouquet as nice as my mothers.

Rose has done her research on flowers.  There are many books on flowers in her home.  Rose dreams of owning her own flower shop when she is old enough.  Rose never stops asking Carol. Carol buys a small store in town and begins a business.  As the year go by Rose gets her wish.  It remains a family business.  Rose is always happy to help after school.

Carol makes enough money to build a large greenhouse near her home. Rose's inspiration is to grow tropical flowers in the greenhouse. They do this. Flowers were Rose’s destiny.
