Precious Love

Déjà-vu?

Love at first sight, love unexpected, love in a flash, love in strangest circumstances. Love nevertheless. How could it happen? It did. Fiction is stranger than fact, and fact is stranger than fiction.

In the world of daydream or the world of reality, anything can happen, blurring the boundary between the real and the unreal, the existential and the chimerical, the tangible and the imponderable. With Song Viet-Dam Giang, you do not ask metaphysical questions or philosophize. With her the best approach is to acquiesce. Let her lead you to her world. Have that wide-eyed Alice-In-Wonderland kind of innocence, and let the music of her words resonate in your ears. Let her poetic sensibility transport you to the realm of her own making. For there is something at once transcendental and intimate about her words, her heart, and her feelings.

I want you to imagine with me for a moment. I want you to imagine a man who falls in love with the most beautiful and intelligent woman he has ever met. Not slowly over time, not taking a calculated risk, not intellectually analyzing, but with the intensity that gushes from the bottom of his heart only once in a lifetime. Infatuation, you wonder? No, it is nothing like the irrational behavior of a love-starved man, but a momentous decision that blends impulse, reflection, passion, ratiocination in equal proportions. If you think this is double-talk or sarcasm, you have missed the point. The point is there is no point in questioning and hesitating till doomsday and forever being condemned to lead an insipid life. When love comes knocking.

Now that our man has fallen in love, marvel at how his woman reacts.

Precious Love captures the feelings and emotions of that woman, smitten as she is by the same sudden flash of lightning, who finds herself gripped by a strong passion, gentle at first, which keeps growing even before the first hug or the first kiss. She yearns with intensity and she desires with dignity. She responds with a powerful surge of affection, with the flush, the rapture, and the keenness of deep emotions. She gives in to daydreams, and she hovers between reality and fantasy. The love she feels is real for her, and she lives it with intoxicating abandon. She now hears the melodies of love, which ease her into her moonlit dreams, where she yearns for that first hug.

In moments of loneliness, when she connects with her own feelings, she finds herself aroused by that unspeakable craving, that hunger for his nearness, his warmth, his kisses. And she sighs about the adamantine laws of her heart, which hold sway with the power that undergirds her passion.

Precious Love

The story of our love, what happenstance!
What unexpected love our encounter!
For that one brief moment and just a glance,
The world of love springs to life forever.

Gentle and soothing like the morning dew
Floating on the wings of sweet melodies,
It came fragrant our love web for us two
Binding our souls in dreams and symphonies.

Shuttling words of love wove our moonlit dreams,
Building such desire for each private heart.
Yearning grew through words in great steady streams
For that first hug that stirs in our fond hearts.

What love has had no brief painful moments?
Making up made joyful love so precious.
Now passion and raging storm in torrents,
Now ecstasy to the heavens marv'lous.

O love! Why catch me unawares, Cupid?
Waking up my thirsty heart from nowhere,
Leaving me day and night pining, languid,
With intense longing for my sweetheart fair.
