09/24/01 Indians Midget AAA splits with Little Caesars

SAULT STE. MARIE -- The Soo Kewadin Casino Indians Midgett AAA team split a pair of games over the weekend against Little Caesars in the newly formed Midwest Elite AAA Hockey League.

The Indians took the opener 4-2, while dropping the get-away game 3-1 to the pizza makers.

The Indians gave the crowd a dramatic finish in the opener, scoring four goals in the final period to take the win.

Tyler Hampton scored a pair of goals, both assisted by Derek Stabile and Bill Leahy. Mike McMillon had a goal and an assist, and Scott Parse added a solo goal.

Adam Dekker made 29 saves for the Indians, while Justin Mariott, and Jeff Swanson split time in goal each making 11 saves.

The only offense the Indians could muster in Sunday's game was a first-period goal by Parse.

Jarrett Michaels made 25 stops for the Indians, while Swanson and Mariott again stopped 11 shots each.
