PADI Rescue Diver

Why PADI Rescue Diver?
The PADI Rescue Diver will expand your knowledge and experience beyond purely recreational level because you'll learn to look beyond yourself and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Although this course is serious, it is an enjoyable way to build your confidence.

 

What do I need to start?

bulletPADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification (or qualifying certification from another organisation)
bulletMinimum Age: 15 (12 for PADI Junior Rescue Diver)
bulletSuccessful completion of the Emergency First Response course (or a sanctioned CPR program) within the past 24 months

What will I do?
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions, you'll cover:

bulletSelf-rescue and diver stress
bulletdive first aid
bulletemergency management and equipment
bulletswimming and non-swimming assists
bulletpanicked diver response
bulletunderwater problems
bulletmissing diver procedures
bulletsurfacing the unconscious diver
bulletin water artificial respiration
bulletegress (exits)
bulletfirst aid procedures for pressure related accidents
bulletdive accident scenarios

How long will it take?

bulletFive classroom sessions usually spread over five weeks
bulletMinimum Open Water Training: five sessions over two days

The following are all provided as part of your course:-

How much does it cost?
The price of the Rescue course training includes all academic, pool sessions, open water rescue practice dives, all course materials, certificate and emblem.  The course fee does not include travel, boat fees, equipment or overnight accommodation at the dive sites.
Course fees start from £260

Where do I go from here?
As a Rescue diver, you can reach a higher recreational level with just five specialty certifications. With this achievement you will receive the credential of Master Scuba Diver.  The Rescue diver qualification is also a prerequisite for Divemaster, the first step on the road to to a professional status within the PADI family.
