New Year's Eve in Rio!!! 96/97

On December,30th,I left home with my parents,brother and cousin,and we went to Rio under a terrible rainstorm...We arrived there at 2:30 am.I was pretty tired,but couldn't sleep,so I watched TV until 4:30 am.

In the next day(the last day of 96!),we woke up at 8:00 am,and went to visit my father's godmother who lives there.She's really old,and she was so happy to see us there!She cried a lot!We made her feel so happy,and she did the same thing for us!!! :c)

After that,we decided to visit the Corcovado ,but it wasn't visible because of the mist...That was bad,cause from the top of this mountain you can have the most beautiful view of Rio...

I was dying to go to the beach!The last time I was at a beach was in last January,in Rio!I had to take care of my skin!I didn't want to look like a "lobster"! *LOL* So,we visited Copacabana Beach,Ipanema Beach...but we stayed at Barra Beach !Me and my cousin went to swim,and we almost got drowned because of a HUGE wave!Well...that wasn't SO bad!That was FUNNY!We were brave enough to save our lives!!! *LOL*

We got tired of the beach... *bored face* so we went to my cousin's building,we bought somethings to eat,and went to the swimming pool!I got a little,little,little tanned...My cheeks are kinda pink! *LOL*

At night,we had dinner,and at 11:30 pm we went to Barra Beach !We were late!We ran a lot,and we arrived at the beach in 20 minutes!That was not bad!The beach was SOOOO full of people!At midnight there were beautiful fireworks!!!I put my feet on the ocean,and it's a tradition in Rio to give things to the God of the Sea (her name is Iemanjá),so we gave her a bottle of Champagne!I think she'll be really glad!!! *L* And,OF COURSE,we asked for good things in the new year!

After that,me,my brother and my cousin walked A LOT to go to a party on THE OTHER side of the beach!Have you any idea on how long is Barra Beach??? My God!When we arrived at this party,we felt bad!That was AWFUL!So,we decided to sit on the sand,and stay looking at the sea, hering it's sound,talking,making fun of some weird people(LAUGH),and we stayed there from 1:00 am until 3:00 am!

I celebrated the New Year twice!The second time was for Shawn !He was in NYC,and it's 3 hours earlier there!So,at 3:00 am I put my feet in the water again,and made the same "ritual"!Unfortunately there were no champagne or fireworks on the second time...
