Happy Birthday To Them...

8th April 1997

It's 8.55 pm on a Tuesday night and the sky is clear. Johann Strauss' Blue Danube Waltz is flowing gracefully in the lab. Umm-pah-pah... umm-pah-pah as it goes along with small paper boats sailing happily and merrily.

Yesterday night, when I returned from the lab, I took a peek into a wooden box my housemates prepared for our house cat to deliver her kittens. To my surprise, I saw 4 small little 'Giddy Gats' cuddled under their mummy's belly. They were obviously having supper... Three of them are of the same colour as their mom - orange and white. The fourth had some of their father's fur colour genes. So, the fourth one was orange and some black - typical Garfield colour. I think I'll call the fourth one Garfield provided it's male. If it's female, maybe I can call her Gardenia... 'so good you can eat it on its own'. I have not got round to checking their sex yet. However, none of them had their grandmother's fur genes because I did not notice any huge furball among them (their grandmother is somewhat Siamese). What will I name the other three? Well, maybe I can name them after some of you. Wouldn't that be nice? Heh! Heh! I'm just joking.

Actually, I just came back from a walk to Gelugor for dinner with a friend. Before reaching Gelugor, we stopped at the vice-chancellor's house to blow some bubbles... It was fun. Too bad the wind was blowing in the wrong direction... We had shampoo bubbles exploding all over our faces. Those behind us must have had a jolly good time watching the bubbles float gracefully through the air, at the mercy of the strong breeze... Shampoo bubbles are quite heavy though... they drop quite fast. Next semester, we will offer a course called BUB613 - Blowing Bubbles. Anyone interested? It's 4 units... 100% course work.

According to a reliable source, the man who ran away naked in Mark 14:51-52 was Mark himself. I shall keep you posted on any other information about this passage.

Okay, I have to go. I shall be heading back to have my bath and get this shampoo off my face. They're on my lips too. Mmm... Maybe I'll get the chance to check whether the little Giddies are 'pompan' or 'yantan'. Until then, take care and I wish you all the best. God bless you.

Yours bubbly,
Bubble Bart
