Maukah? Maukah? Part II

24th March 1997

On this night of a thousand stars... or rather billion raindrops... thank God I made it to Mandarin Cafe for dinner just in time before I got drenched. By the way, on the way here, I saw the moon tonight... round and shy, trying to hide behind the rain clouds.

It's now 9.19 pm on a miserable Monday night and yes, it's time for me to give my usual warning... please do not be obliged to read on if you're hurrying...

After the 'movie', I made my way back to the Big Cracker and hopped on a minibus. It took me past Gurney Drive and let me off in Tanjong Tokong. The sight of Island Plaza lured me in... and an 'island' it was... hardly anyone visits the place. It's inhabitants are boutiques and other high-class stores for those with plenty of money to spend. I was only interested in the very orderly book store they had and Colonel Sander's 'warung'.

For those of you who love 'ai-se-klin' or ice-cream, there's a Haagen Daaz (I'm sorry if I got the spelling wrong... I'm not a spelling bee but a typing human) on the ground floor which looks like a mini police lock-up.

I ended up not buying anything there (except for dinner at the Colonel's... which cost a bomb) but I came back with little stories like this to tell you.

I guess that's the end of the 2 part mini series of Maukah? Maukah? I appreciate you taking the time to read them. This is my little way of spending time with you since I am nowhere near the lecture halls during the day. Thank you for the company. I shall try my best to continue writing although I understand that exams are drawing near. I shall keep you in my prayers and I hope that you'll keep me in yours too.

Until then, here's wishing you a Holy and Blessed Easter and all the best in your exams. May the Lord be your source of inspiration and may you pass with flying colours. God bless you.

With a big brotherly hug,
Bart
