***DAY NINE ***

London, England

11:55 pm English Time

London totally rules. We got off the train at 7:00 this morning. Then we dropped our stuff off at the hotel and went on a tour of London. Unfortunately, everyone fell asleep. We woke up for Westminster Abbey and got off to look around it. I almost cried remembering how I stayed up all night to watch Diana's funeral there. Amazing. Then we went to Charles's home (and Prince William and Prince Harry's when they're not in school) It's an ugly, huge red brick building. Then we went to watch the changing of the guards at Buckingham palace. The flag of England was flying, so the queen wasn't in residence. Next, we went to tour Windsor Castle. The Queen's flag was flying, so she was ins residence there. We toured the castle (the non-residential part) and saw Queen Mary's dollhouse. NICE house. The castle over looks Eton college where Prince William *sigh* goes to school. Unfortunately he's on vacation now with his dad and brother at Camilla's country estate. Then we came back tothe hotel. Half an hour later, we took the tube to dinner and from there some of us went to see "Phantom of the Opera" in Her Majesty's Theater. WOW!!!!!! That was amazing. The beginning had an auction scene where an old Raoul bought the poster and monkey with cymbals from Christine's first play as a lead and the phantom's lair respectivly. The entire set was covered. The last auction item was the restored chandelier that the phantom broke when he dropped it on the stage. When it was uncovered down on the stage, the lights started going wild and the chandelier lit up and rose tothe celing for the play as the overature started. It doesn't sound like much, but you'd have to see it. I'm so glad I got to see it. London rules.
