Totems in the Park

One of my favorite sites, totem poles. The poles often represent a particular story belonging to a Native American tribe. I think of them as a sort of short-hand or reminder of the story. They are typically carved with abstract representations of them main animal characters in the tale, for example, crow, beaver, eagle, killer whale, dolphin, etc.
