Welcome

Welcome to Ketchikan, Alaska's first city. This was our first stop of the journey. The city has a number of historical landmarks and museums. Tongas Historical Museum and Public Library is the showcase for the "Salmon Capital of the World." The Centennial Building commemorates the purchase of Alaska from Russia in 1867. Creek Street became the red light district in 1903. And, Monrean House was built in 1904 and remains as an example of the Queen Anne style that was so popular then.
