My Hep-Links

These are just a few of the many pages that are out there on the web they are all put together well and allot of work and feeling has gone into them. When I was diagnosed I did not have a computer and I did not know anything about hep.

It was almost four years and three courses of interferon before I got connected to the internet. The things I learned all came from the web and from Hepv-L (a mailing list from St Johns University) details to subscribe will be listed below. I asked questions bugged Dr.'s, nurses and friends I have in the medical profession. I hope theyare helpful to you. If you have any of your own that I don't please drop me a post and I'll add a link

Happy_HeppersHomePage http://www.texoma.net/~moreland

Elaine Moorland, has great information on her page and is constantly working on it. Her page is the first page I came to and have followed it since April of 1997 right after I got my computer. I hope my page is as useful to others as her's has been to me. Thank you Elaine!

Ask Emaliss, hep info support http://soli.inav.net/~website/index.html

This is another site that is great site. Emaliss has a well put together site with links every where she at one time had a survey. I'm not to sure if it is still there but it's work looking into.

Medicine Net, http://www.medicinenet.com

Some very good info. Not just for hepatitis either

"Hepatitis Haven," http://www.tiac.net/users/birdlady/hep.html

Jeanne has some great things here links to many sources of info. She has transplant information, a personals page where you can meet other heppers, Pictures and personal stories too.

"Peppermimt Patti's Junk Drawer," http://www.alaska.net/~clotho/

Patti's site is another great place to learn about hepatitis C. She wrote the FAQ's of hepC and it has answers to any thing that you want to know about hep, treatment side effects, etc. It is a place you have to see. In addition, she is funny too. :

The University of Utah, Pathology dept. http://www.medstat.med.utah.edu/WebPath/webpath.html#menu

If you not sure what a normal liver looks like in comparison to a diseased one look here some good images from normal to the worst all in color. I think there is close to 67 images it takes a while to download but it is helpful if you want to see what your liver looks like.

Hep C Alert, http://www.hep-c-alert.org/index.html

Now this is dedication. Andi Thomas is not only a great friend; she is dedicated to this cause. She spends her waking hours taking care of her family and her Job as well as every thing that has to do with alert. I have seen her wake in the morning before work and go straight to her puter to see what has come up since last she shut down the night before. She is trying to make it safe for all medical care workers to have a safe work place not only in hospitals but any aspect of care such as ems and other oriented fields. as well as in the home. Andi My hats off to you Girl. Definitely stop at Alerts site and read some of the things Alert is doing.

Australian Transplant & Dialysis Group, http://www.users.bigpond.com/rnewman/

To subscribe/unsubscribe: http://www.wagga.net.au/transplant

This is a very small group it also a listserv. It is not just liver related it has members who have Kidney, Lung, Heart and Pancreas Transplants. Ralph Newman is the founder of the group. He has had a kidney transplant and he has been a great supporter to me when times were bad. They also have a chat channel on irc its #Transplant also located on superchat. It is a small friendly channel with still time for fun stuff. Humor is a big part of dealing with the seriousness of illness.
