The Rotterdam

Launched in 1959, this steam-powered flagship of the Holland-America fleet sailed over a thousand voyages including 29 times around the globe. The 5th ship to bare her name, she retired in September 1997.

My voyage on the Rotterdam began in August of 1996, when my family and I boarded her in Vancouver, British Columbia. For 6 days we sailed up the Inland Passage, stopping at various ports and taking in the amazing Alaskan scenery.
