Let me start by saying that I'm sorry that it's been over a month since I've done anything with this web site. What happened is really simple. I found other things to do and didn't really think about getting on the computer like I had been doing for a couple years. The contributing factor was mainly that I was playing video games again. Didn't matter what system it was on because I was playing games on all four of our game systems.
For a while, it was non-stop Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Well, I finally beat the game and am slowly going through the process of discovering every single secret that I can find. If it can be accomplished in the game, I'm working on it. Beating it wasn't all that difficult though. Like any game, the ability to move your character around effectively was the key. If you can dodge attacks, then stand a pretty good shot of winning the final battle.
I also beat Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the Super Nintendo for the upteenth time and am working on the first two Legend of Zelda games, both for the regular Nintendo system. It's been years since I've played either of those two, so I still can't remember everything in those two games. Actually, the real amazement was that the Nintendo and the games still worked. It's still very difficult to get the games to work right, but they eventually do. Some of the games I have are 13 and 14 years old. That they still work is a wonder.
Any other time that I have has been spent resting though. I've been sick for about the last two to three weeks with one thing or another and I think I may be coming down with something else now too. To add onto that, I'm back at school at Tri-C for the spring semester and working 34-35 hours at CVS still. I may have to cut back on my hours a bit at work to help cope with everything else, but that's still debatable. However, one of my classes was canceled due to the fact that there were only around 3 people still signed up for it, so I may find a class to replace it (Journalism is the canceled class) or just go with three classes.
Take a look at my schedule at Updates and tell me that isn't a packed schedule. Oh well, so goes life in this day and age.
Our search for somewhere to live continues by the minute. Right now we're looking at this place that's on the Medina-Chippewa line, but that's not a certainty at this point since we haven't seen the inside of the house as of yet. Actually, I haven't seen the house at all, but my mom has and she sort of likes it. But we're not going to do anything until we see the inside of the house and determine how much work needs to be done.
If we were to move there, it would turn my 15 minute drive to work into a 30-35 minute drive and my 30 minute drive to school could reach an hour or so. However, if it gets us out of this house and into something we can handle, that won't bother me. Our main priority is to get out of this house and away from my dad as soon as possible. We still don't know when he's going to lose it, but it's almost certain that it will happen. We just don't want to be around when it does.
Otherwise it's been pretty quiet here. My mom does have the court appearance in February over the domestic violence charge against my dad, but we aren't looking ahead to that or to anything else. We're just concentrating on getting the hell out of here. When my dad is allowed to come back here, he'll find it an empty place. Then he can do whatever he wants to without bothering us.
Okay, I don't know when the next entry will be. The phones are supposed to go off at any time during this week since my dad hasn't been paying his phone bill again and we aren't about to pay for a bill that's in his name. He wants the phone on, he can pay for it. So I'm basically doing any updating that I can think of now and hoping that I can find a way of doing it from week to week until we get into a permanent residence.
I have a couple places I could go if I wanted to update. I could do it from Tri-C in the computer lab, which may work since that's where I'm going to be everyday during the week. I could ask Mike at work if I could use his computer from time to time to take care of some updating. I already go over there enough as it is, so it's not exactly like I won't have any opportunities.
However, I don't know how willing Tri-C would be to have me fooling around with my web site on their computers, even upstairs in the computer lab where the want you to check your e-mail. I don't feel that it would be good if I tied up their computers for an hour or so at a time while I just updated something on this site. As for Mike, well I don't think that I should really be using his computer in that manner since it is his machine. Why should I go and start sticking files on his computer and taking up space there?
One way or another, I'll try to find a way. I'm not promising anything will get done if the phone lines go down. I'm just saying that I'll try. It's been somewhat hectic over the last several months and it doesn't appear that it will get any better until we move. Who knows? Maybe the next entry will be tomorrow's?
