Let's get one thing straight. I hate getting up early on my day off of work, which meant that today should have been a lousy day. Thankfully, the day went by just fine. I had an appointment with an opthamologist today and was told what I pretty much already knew, that I'm near sighted. Actually, I was surprised just how bad my vision has become over the last four or five years. I mean, I knew it was bad, but it was just ridiculous.
Each time he went to a line of letters that was larger, I had to tell him that I still couldn't make out the letters. I told him I might stand a chance with the top line, but I wasn't guaranteeing anything. So after several unsuccessful attempts at reading a line of letters, I was able to make them out. It had to be pretty close to the top. My left eye was better, but not by much. That's interesting because before, my right eye was my good eye. Now they're both down the shitter.
After determining that my vision sucked (just how many tests do you need to do before that's clear?), I went and spent ten minutes trying to decide on a frame. But I did it, and in about a week my glasses should be ready. The best part was that I only had to pay $26 for my visit because my insurance paid for the frames completely. It's a pretty good deal if you ask me.
Of course the real trick will be to remember to wear them every now and then. I actually look decent in them, so I don't have to worry about that detail that much. Thank goodness for wire frames.
Are long sleeve shirts becoming a thing of the past? I'm talking about button up shirts that I can wear to work as well. All I can find right now is short sleeve shirts, and that bothers me. Of course, I only checked a couple of places, but it's still kind of silly. I need more shirts too since many of my shirts are now falling apart (along with my abused khakis). I did buy one shirt and a pair of jeans, but that was about it.
I'm just not very keen on buying clothes I guess. I could have next to nothing to wear and still put off buying clothes. I just don't like it and I'm not really sure why. Same thing with boots. The boots I have now are just about through, yet I won't go to a shoe store to look at anything. I'm just wearing my Nikes right now regardless of what I'm wearing and I'm going to be wearing Nikes to work for a while.
The one thing I'm not short on is boxers and socks. I'm pretty much set in that regard, as well as with undershirts and t-shirts. I just don't have a whole lot of anything else to go on. But I'll be just fine. Clothes have never been a priority anyway.
It's amazing. I can actually work my scanner and play with the pictures in photoshop without completely botching something up. I kind of needed to learn because I wanted to use the cover art of albums when I review them (B.G. Review). So I pretty much starting to clicking on all sorts of things while figuring out the scanner and the software. It's embarrassing now that I think of it because it's about as straightforward as it can get.
Photoshop still gives me trouble, but I'm slowly learning how to use it. This will be helpful if I want to make my own graphics for this site. It will also help if I decide I want to really mess with the pictures I have and make weird things out of them. However, that kind of thing is not on the drawing board right now as I'm more concerned with restoring this site to the current format.
So far this month has worked out though. I've had time each day to work on my site and get things updated. Now I just need to figure out how to get visitors to come in.
