Kristy gazed at her watch impatiently. "Come on Nick" she rolled her eyes, seeing he was now almost 45 minutes late. "I'm in the right place" she assured herself, double checking the email he'd sent hours earlier, which she'd printed off for reference. Hey Kristy Just wanna let you know I miss you like crazy. I'm counting the seconds until you fly down. I'm picking you up at the O. airport after your plane flies in. It'll be about 1:30 under the big Target Rent-A-Car sign. The sign is huge, you can't miss it. Hurry! Later Nick PS-sooo glad you're flying up early! sooo glad. "Well Nick" Kristy growled through clenched teeth. "The big target rent-a-car sign, 1:30....it's now the big target rent-a-car sign, 2:20!" A few more minutes passed, and Kristy flopped her head back against the bags. "I'm in a city I've never been too, stuck at the airport...Perfect!" A young girl walked past, and did a double take. "Ohmigod! I can't believe this!" the girl squealed. "You must be Kristy Royal! Holy, I love your song! Wow this is so cool!" the girl fanned her face excitedly, and Kristy smiled. "Uh, do you want me to sign something for you, or what can I do? Picture?" she offered pleasently. "What a way to boost a bad mood" Kristy reasoned in her head. "Yeah, uh a picture and an autograph would be great!" The girls parents stopped. "Dave will be sooo jealous! Yes!" the girl laughed to her parents. They snapped like 12 photo's, and the flashes soon got irritating. One pic of Kristy under the Welcome to Orlando sign, one of her and the girl, Meggi, against their pile of bags. Three of Kristy and the family. One of Kristy standing holding a magazine with herself on the cover, which Meggi just happened to have handy. Two of Kristy and Meggi talking. And a bunch of random photo's. "Nice to meet you" Kristy waved as the girl walked away. Just as she sat back down, a dark green Chevy Blazer pulled up. Out stepped a guy in a black nike hat, and dark sunglasses, not unlike Kristy's Blue Jay's hat, and black oakleys. "Only celebrities dress like this, I'm afraid you're gonna have to remove the attire" the guy teased. "Nick!" Kristy's mind screamed, but not wanting to create a scene for more reasons then one, she just jumped to her feet and embraced the tall figure. "I missed you" she murmured, and kissed Nick deeply. He picked her up, so her face was level with his. ('member, she's only 5'7", he's like 6'2") "I'm so sorry I was late, there was terrible freeway traffic, lunch rush hour...and my mom took my jeep to be washed. It was super dirty" Nick finished, blushing. "I was a little pissed..." she told him "More like alot pissed" Kristy finished with a laugh. "Seeing you is worth it. But, remind me again why I left my parents three days earlier than I have too...it's getting a little fuzzy" "You left because we can't stand being apart for this long, it's almost been a month. And I've got this magical force that just pulls you to me." Nick teased. "You are so full of yourself" Kristy chided playfully. "Let's get out of the airport, I'm dying for a good glass of...anything other than pop" They loaded her bags into the back of the Blazer, and drove off. Cruising down the highway, Kristy watched the Florida landscape flash by the windows. "It's really pretty down here" she observered to herself. "What have the other guys been up to?" Kristy asked Nick as they pulled into a pleasent neighborhood. "I dunno, I haven't really talked to anyone that much. Bri and Kev are still up in Kentucky, Howie and AJ are in Orlando, and me--I'm in Tampa with you" he finished, and smiled at Kristy. "When we're off, on tour break, we kinda stay seperate...live a non-Backstreet life. Know what I mean?" She nodded understandingly. "This it?" Kristy asked in bewilderment as the Blazer pulled up to a gigantic white house, with a pretty garden splashed across the front. "Yup! This is where I live" Nick told her proudly. "I'm not sure who's home right now, it could be my whole family, some, or none...who knows?!" He stopped the car. Kristy stepped out, and tugged at the hem of her shorts. Nick walked around the back end of the blazer to unlock the trunk. "Just leave my stuff in the trunk" Kristy told Nick with a smile. "We'll have to bring it out later, after I get a hotel room." "Just sleep here, in one of the guest rooms" Nick said nonchalantly. "Sleep here?" Kristy asked skeptically, eyebrows raised. "Oh, yeah. I'm sure your parent's will just jump for joy at that idea. 'Yeah, let's let our son's girlfriend sleep in our house'." He laughed. "I'll ask, trust me it'll be okay" "Ooookay, but leave it in the car just incase" Kristy replied, still disbelieving. He grabbed her hand, and led her around to the front door. "Hello?" Nick shouted as they walked into a large breezy foyer. "Any body hooo- oome?" "God, Nick we aren't deaf, thank you very much!" A pretty blonde girl bounced down the stairs, and scowled at her brother. "You're gonna blow her ears off!" "Kristy" Nick said as he shot a dirty look at the girl "The sarcastic bit-" Kristy clamped her hands over his mouth, and cut him off. "Be nice" she reprimanded teasingly. To the girl she said "Hi, I'm Kristy" "BJ" the girl said with a smile. "And the loser you're standing next to is my brother who, in a little under a month, has reminded me why it's so nice to have him gone most of the time." "Pleasure to meet you BJ" Kristy told her warmly. BJ stuck her tongue out at Nick as if to say 'hah! she's glad to meet me'. "Oh, that's mature Beej. I'm sure the hotties love that...especially Darryl, right?" BJ blushed. "Shut up Nick!" "Shut up Nick" he mimicked in a high voice. BJ turned down some stairs, and disappeared around a corner. Kristy glanced around the foyer, then faced Nick. "Where's the bathroom? I've gotta piss, after waiting at the damn airport for so long" she teased him. Nick blushed slightly. "Up the stairs, you can't miss it." After she left, Nick searched out BJ, who was watching TV. "Where are mom and dad?" he asked her. BJ pointedly ignored him. "Beej" Nick persisted. "Bobbie Jean Carter." Silence. He grabbed the remote out of her hands and flipped off the TV. "Mom's getting groceries, and Dad took Aaron, Leslie, and Angel to the water park. Ah, I think Tyler called. Or maybe it was Terry. Or was it Trevor? Anyway, someone called" BJ told Nick. "Now gimme the remote" Nick clenched his fists. "Don't you write these things down?" It could have been a Tyler, or a Terry, or a Trevor, I know people with those names." "CHILL!" BJ looked at her brother. "Geez, someone's got a little bit of MSB!" "MSB?" Nick asked, confused. "Someone's a little back on the slang, apparently having no life can do that to you." she told him abruptly. "MSB...major sperm buildup. As in 'someone hasn't been getting off enough lately'...what's the matter, are European girls too expensive? Now give me the remote." she snatched it out of his hand, and flipped the TV back on. Nick narrowed his eyes. He and BJ had had a huge argument the previous night, and they were both still a little pissed. "D'ya know what Beej" Nick started with a sigh. "Don't start. Kristy's here, I just wanna relax and enjoy my last few days off" BJ swivelled her head around, and peered at her brother. "Yeah, sure..." she smiled. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Kristy skipped down the stairs and looked around. "Nick..." she called blankly, realizing she had no idea where to go in the house. Nick came bounding up the stairs. "Come on" he said quickly, "I'll show you around." Kristy was lead through the house, and shown all the rooms. "And" Nick finished "This is where you'll stay" "If your parent's let me" she finished with a smile, surveying the pretty room. "When my parent's let you" Nick corrected, laughing. Kristy threw herself onto the bed and closed her eyes. "I think I'm gonna crash for a little while" she murmured. "Jet Lag." Suddenly a warm pair of lips touched hers, and Kristy opened her eyes to see Nick's baby blues peering back at her. "Are you crashin' with me?" Kristy giggled, and Nick only kissed her deeper. She pulled him down onto the bed, and held him tighter. He kissed her neck softly, and rested his head on the pillow. They layed there together enjoying the golden silence. Kristy turned slightly, and looked at Nick. "What possessed you to do that?" Nick held his index finger up infront of her face. "See this?" he asked in a whisper quiet voice. Kristy nodded, confused. Nick checked over his shoulder quickly, then pointed to the fly of his jeans, smiling childishly. Kristy grinned. "Bad boy" she whispered in his ear. Closing her eyes again, Kristy set her head on Nick's shoulder. "I don't know why I'm so tired, I should be all hyper, especially after the plane ride." "It's the business" Nick replied. "You get so used to working, as soon as you get a break, it's sleepy time. Trust me, I know the feeling." There was a few moments of quiet, and Nick glanced at Kristy. Her eye's were closed, and she was smiling slightly. Nick slipped himself carefully off the bed, and left her there to catch up on sleep.
