Evangelistic Crusades

February 11, 1998

Dear Brethren,

Praise God for enabling me by His grace to conduct crusades in various places of southern regions of Northern Philippines. Below are some statisical report of the evangelistic film crusades done in the months of January and early February 1998:

January 23-24, 1998 at Antipolo, Lipa City. An average of 40 attended and a total of 13 professions of faith.

January 25, 1998, Sunday at Dasmarinas Cavite. 80 persons attended and 15 professed faith in Christ. Dasmarinas Cavite is 1 1/2 hour travel northwest from Lipa City via South-expressway. Before the crusade, I baptized 3 disciples there. On February 1, Sunday, I baptized another 2 disciples there.

January 30-31, Friday and Saturday nights at Palma's compound, Sabang Lipa City. The first night was attended by 110 persons and the second night, 70 persons. 18 professed faith in Christ.

February 2, 1998, Monday. I left for Labo Camarines Norte to conduct crusades and workers' seminar there. Labo is 5-7hours travel from Lipa City. My 2 helpers are working in Labo. Before evening, Bro. Manny and Bro. Elias arrived. So there were 5 of us in our seminar and crusade activities. In our first night we conducted a Bible study for the new believers in Labo. The next day, Feb. 3, at about 9 am , we started promoting our evening evangelistic film crusade. Our seminar for workers started at 11 am and our subjects concerns about leadership. Brother Manny and I took turns in giving lectures to the workers. They were blessed and encouraged as they learned the qualities and character of a good leader. By 3 pm, we went to the place where the new believers in Labo usually assemble and continued our lectures there. There were 8 persons who raised their hands indicating that they are willing to be baptized. By 7 pm, we started our evangelistic film crusade and held it at Canapawan, Labo. Bro. Jurhil gave his testimony and Bro. Manny preached. About 50 came forward to accept Christ. The following day, February 4, we conducted the film crusade in another location called Malibago, Labo, Camarines Norte. Bro. Jonathan preached first before the start of the film. After the third reel, Bro. Manny gave his testimony and afterwards, I preached and made an invitation who will receive Christ and asked them to come forward. Many came forward, others due to a lack of space just stood up indicating their acceptance of Christ. More than 65 made professions of faith. By the way, in the afternoon of Feb. 4, before the start of the evening crusade , I baptized 7 persons in a river at Canapawan , Labo. The total baptisms in Labo since I baptized 1 last year until this date is 8.

Feb. 5, we left labo going south for Buhi. Jurhil and Jonathan were left in Labo while Bro. Manny and Elias went with me. We left Labo at about 9:30 and arrived in Buhi, Camarines Sur at about 4 pm. About 200 persons attended in the evening crusade in Buhi and there was about 15 professions of faith. We stayed there at night.

Feb. 6, Friday, we left Buhi and proceeded to Sto. Domingo, Albay. That night, we conducted an evangelistic film crusade in San Francisco, Sto Domingo Albay. More than 200 attended. When I was about to preach, it begun to rain and the people ran away. So, we were not able to make an invitation.

The following day, Feb. 7, Sat. we conducted the evangelistic film crusade at the park of Sto. Domingo, Albay. Our statistic in-charge counted a total of 550 who attended but was not able to include those people watching in the street. So there were about 600 who attended. After a long invitation, a couple came forward and accepted Christ. They also indicated their willingness for home Bible study. The following night, we went to their house and was able to gather 7 persons in the Bible study. Albay is a place where most people are fanatic and hard Catholics. The first MBC of Albay which is located in Sto. Domingo suffered persecutions by mockery and stoning before its organization in 1992.

Please pray for our other coming crusades.

Pray that God will supply all our needs as we reach more people with the Gospel. Jesus showed us His example that we must work while there is opportunity. He said, " I must work the work of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work" (John 9:4). the time will come when governmental authorities will have a law to disallow witnessing. Now is always the time to use all our best to win more souls while there is more opportunities.

.   God bless you!

Brotherly,
Edwin Jardinel

NOTE: This is a crusade report on the early part of the year 1998. The crusades done in the middle of the year 1998 will be included next time.
