Missionary Edwin Jardinel was born on June 3, 1961 in Davao City,
Southern Philippines. His parents, Romeo and Digna, were both Christians.
His father has long been a Baptist pastor since he was a small kid.
His mother died in 1982 when he was 21 years old. He has 3 brothers
and one sister. He is the 3rd child from the eldest. When his
mother died of cancer, later his father remarried. So, Bro.Edwin got another
brother and a sister.
During his elementary days, he and his family use to attend The Independent Baptist Church in Davao City. In 1974 when he started his high school, he and his family transferred to Immanuel Baptist Church (SBC). Later, in 1981 he and his family joined the Missionary Baptist by Scriptural baptism.
Missionary Edwin Jardinel had his secondary schooling in Davao City High School. After graduation from high school, he took a break for a while because he had to care for his mother in the hospital in Manila during that time of her ailment. In the second semester of 1979, he pursued his study in the University of Mindanao in Davao City, Southern Philippines, and took up the course, Bachelor of Science in Architecture (BSAR). He graduated with a degree of B.S. AR in 1985.
Before his graduation in college, he had already a long time struggle in his heart and found himself reading the Bible and christian books instead of his architectural books. He had lost his interest in the secular work and found greater joy in God's service. He thought he had to stopped the secular schooling and proceed to the seminary but decided to finish his course for the sake of a "piece of paper" which is also useful for some reasons. In 1986 he entered the seminary Philippine Missionary Baptist Seminary and during his first year in the seminary, he was already a missionary helper of his dad and handled 2 mission works. During the late 80s, he started a student fellowship which was attended by Missionary Baptist students and their friends and contacts. During his second year in the seminary, he became a student teacher at PMBS upon the recommendation of Dr. Magness. It was also in those years that he developed a series of Bible lessons used as materials for follow up and later it was developed as the materials for the Gospel Correspondence Ministry, later renamed Bible Corrrespondence Institute. He graduated from the seminary in 1989 with the degree of Th.B and was ordained that year under the authority of County Ave. B.C. and in 1990, he graduated with the degree of Th.M.
In 1991, he ventured in Southern Luzon Northern Philippines and started
a work in Albay. Presently he continues to work in Southern Luzon
areas and is involved in evangelism and church planting as a missionary
of Bethel MBC.
