Communion, the movie in which Christopher plays Whitley
Strieber, the writer who wrote the book about his abduction by aliens,
is in my eyes one of THE underestimated movies in which Christopher stars.
Though it's on t.v. regularly, not many people know it.
In this story Whitley who thinks he had a strange dream finds out his son
had the same dream. Slowly he discovers more about what is happening to
himself and his family. Not always in full cooperation does he face the
strange experiences.
Some think the story is hardly credible, but I think
that has something to do with the cheap special effects some say it has.
But hey, if that's what Whitley says he saw, the aliens can do more with
their minds than with their bodies *grin*.
Anyway, this 1989 film adaption holds many great actors
and great acting! Lindsay Crouse plays Anne Strieber, Joel Carlson plays
their son Andrew. Because of the strong acting the movie is capturing the
attention from the first minute to the last.
You really want to find out, but just like Whitley you
don't. Not in this story at least. You have to read the other books to
do just that.
I was always hoping for a sequel, like I mentioned somewhere
else, as in Transformation and Breakthrough. But almost 10 years later
there is no sign of it.
Nevertheless you almost experience the wonders of what's
out there with Whitley through this magnificent movie.
Go see it if you have the chance, it's worth it.
It's the kind of role that Chris is so well suited for.
And remember: it's always good to be back home
