IRC & PIRCH
So you made it :o)
This page is devoted to one of my favourite hobbies (some would say my ONLY hobby ... hehehehe... IRC (or Internet Relay Chat)
This is a fantastic way to talk in real time with people from all over the country and even the world :o)
Below I have placed a copy of pIRCH32 and also a copy of mIRC(should you be intrigued enough to want to see this amazing form of communication for yourself). Just right click on either icon and then hit 'save link as' - it will download for you, then you need to install it :o) I find Pirch easier to use than mIRC for some things (it's prettier too), but mIRC has some awesome scripts :o) I use Pirch when I want to simply chat (so that I can use the hundreds of popups I've "acquired").. LOL, and I use mIRC when I'm on dalnet grabbing and sending mp3's :o) They are both excellent IRC clients, so take your pick :o)
Once it's installed simply login to any of the three sites below:
UNDERNET - irc.xtra.co.nz:6667
STARLINK - any of the servers listed (they are networked)
DALNET - again, any of the servers
There you will find lots of channels to play in :o)
I have a few favourite channels: on the xtra server check out #hole_in_the_wall, a cool room owned by a cool chap called Snap :o) If you are new to IRC check out #Learners_Lounge (I learnt all I know about IRC in that channel and the helpers there are awesome :o) On Starlink check out #chatzone - one of the friendliest channels I've ever been in - all the ppl there are truly lovely :o) On DALNET, #music-central is THE place to go for mp3's (I spend heaps of time in there as LadyJenn)... and such helpful friendly, funny ppl too :o) Also, check out #thunderzone, it's a chat channel and you may find me in there ... if you're on at the right time.. lol
