Did We Learn Anything? |
Below is a list of things I think I've learned. How they will affect my future plans I'm not quite sure yet. |

Little Lessons |
Don't bitch about how much life sucks and how unfulfilled you are. (It's ok to dream and to aspire to better things and new heights. However to do so excessively and in doing so to overlook the things you have going right for you is to condemn yourself to never be happy. And there might come a time in your life where you pine for those good ole days, and you realize that you didn't appreciate what you had when you had it.) |

Remember that each day has value. (Each day your alive is a little victory. You get to continue your own little wars and live your life, whether its going well or not at the time. The is victory in not submitting and appreciating what you do have. And take account of the time you have and neverr take for granted that there is plenty left. So make each day count, whether that means starting a hobby you always wanted to, getting your education, or even making sure those people special to you know that they are. Act in such a way so that what you want can be achieved and don't make too many sacrifices of your time cause it is your's and it is precious. |

Your true friends and best of relatives will be there when you need them, even if you don't necessarily want them there. (When faced with adversity there are going to be people in your life upon which you can rely. They might not be there physically but you can be assured of their emotional support and concern. It's at times like these that you learn who you can count on. And you won't appreciate them until you have time to reflect on things. At that point you'll realize you owe them debts you'll never be able to repay, but you'll do your best to be there for them as well. |

Never underestimate the value of a good meal. (Hospital food has taught me a new appreciation for home cooking, fine restaurants, McDonald's, cold cuts, and anything else which isn't hospital food.) |

There's nothing quite like the love of a good woman, much less the extraordinary one who puts up with me. (I learned that love, at least in my case is stronger than I thought, and it has a way of overcoming adversities. It could be that I'm just lucky enough to have a wonderful woman who stood by me and supported me. Either way I can tell you I never appreciated the strength and resilience of either.. And to be honest I don't think I will ever be able to fully understand how remarkable each is. |
