Check this out....Someone from my school wrote an article about Matchbox 20(including a picture) and printed it in the school paper. E-mail us your opinions on it.....I think that maybe there was too much negitivity about the band....and the poor kid didn't know what he was talking about but he did have some positive points. Matchbox 20.....Same Old Beat
This CD is good. The album "Yourself or Someone Like You" was released in 1996 by Matchbox20 but is still topping the charts in the US. The bouncy tunes and the rythms of the songs don't mix so well with the lyrics of the song, but many of us can look past that fact to enjoy this CD.
This CD has good lyrics that make sense after you listen to the song for awhile. It is a quality CD with many good songs on it, insted of just one or two good songs that seems to be the industry standard for today. The songs have good tunes and excellent instrument playing. The songs on the CD can move the listener to emotions from the flow of the songs. Besides the popular favorites, tracks 1,5, and 9 are also worthwhile songs. The songs on the CD deal with real life issues which the listener can realate to.
I can only see two things wrong with this CD. The beats, rhythms and the backround music all seem to be about the same in almost every song. Plus, the CD gets rather repetitive around track 6 or so. However, the good in the CD definitly outweighs the bad. This CD is defenitly worth buying and listening to. Matchbox 20 has all the markings of a successful band, musically speaking. After all, they included their shoe sizes in their album cover.
