This site concerns exchange programs where you stay in a foreign country in a foreign family

For everyone who is interested in an exchange I've simply listed a few exchange organizations. You shouldn't do an exchange for a longer time without having an organization because there are often problems with the VISA and the high school place.

Here you find a list of the German organizations and a list of the American organizations.

However it is always better to choose a not commercial organization but a volunteer organization cause they don't have to earn money from you and normally they have a better preparation for the exchange.

I would also suggest you to read some books about this issue. I really liked the German books:

"ABI" and "Ein Jahr in die USA". If you want information about American organizations, the book "Advisory List of International Travel and Exchange Programs" will be very helpful for you.
