This is my son, Brandon Christopher. (I will soon have a lot of pictures on this page of him. I have to scan them onto a disk first.) He was born November 25, 1992. He weighed 7lbs 6 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long.
Labor was quite an experience, let me tell you! We took lamaze classes together which werent that bad. I thought I knew everything....NOT! On the evening of Nov. 24th, we had a meeting at work, Arbor Drugs, and I came home at around 1:00am and went to bed (cause I had to work at 9am the next day). I was woken up by Amy, which is hard to do cause I am a deep sleeper, telling me that she was having contractions. I told her "go back to bed, its a false labor!" Well she took a shower instead as I fell back to sleep. Shortly later she tried waking me again, knowing that I didnt want to I ignored her. I heard her get on the phone and call someone. It happened to be the hospital, William Beaumont-Royal Oak. After hanging up the phone she tried to wake me again saying that was the hospital and that they said she is due and I should bring her in. I was mad and I didnt believe her. She pushed me out of the bed and told me to call the hospital myself. I did and they told me she did call and I should bring her there immediately. (Boy did I feel dumb!) I was thinking the entire time, "this better not be false labor or I will kill!" Well we arrived and they brought her in to a waiting room. I called my sister and her mom before I left the apartment telling them we were on our way to the hospital. They arrived a few minutes after we did. About 15 minutes later they broke her water and we were ready for delivery, I freaked. In the meantime, I had already started recording before they pushed her into delivery. I had to change into scrubs and thought I turned off the camcorder while I went into the bathroom to change and I set the camcorder on a table outside the bathroom. Well after viewing the tape, I did not. I had recorded myself go in and come out. It took about 1 1/2 - 2 minutes, but watching the tape it seems like more time had passed. Its hilarious to watch. I was in the operating room when he was born, of course, camcording the whole event and it was rather neat, I must say.
Potty Training was another memorable moment. He broke himself on that. One day as I finished giving him a bath, I noticed we were out of diapers. What was I to do? I didnt want to run to the store and Amy was at work. She didnt get off for another 3-5 hours depending, so I mentioned to him we were out and that he had to wear big boy underwear. I made sure that he understood and that if he had to go to the bathroom/potty that he would have to go on the toilet, because daddy or mommy wasn't going to buy any more diapers. He said ok. Well that night he slept the whole night with no problem. He woke up at 8am and went to the bathroom and was happy. We had a few accidents, of course, but not a lot. We were so proud of him!
He started a C.A.R.S. (Children Are Really Special) program at Edison Elementary in 1996-1997 and then started a Pre-K class at Roosevelt Elementary in 1997-1998. He will start regular Kindergarten this year (1998). He has brown hair and brown eyes.
He does have another sibling, a brother. Amy, his mom/my ex, got married to another guy 50 days after our break up...go figure! She then became pregnant and had another baby boy, Andrew Ali. The father of this child is Persian. Anyhow, Brandon loves him, Andrew, dearly. I am glad he has another sibling, because I really didnt want him to be the only child.
When Brandon comes over to my house he likes to get on the computer. There is a website known as Kiddonet that he plays games and colors on. He also likes to go to the Disney site to look at all the neat stuff there too. Once in awhile I have him go into the chat rooms with me and I tell him what they say and he tells me what to say. He has a lot of fun.
Brandon has many cousins, 16 from my side alone. You can see them by visiting my Family Page and looking up each indvidual member of my family to see them, as soon as I get the pictures posted. I try to get him together with most of them every weekend but it becomes too difficult to manage between his time between them and myself.
Well thats about it for now, but in the meantime, please
