All About The Music

Music is awesome I love to play it along with listening to it. I've been playing guitar for about 8 years. I started taking lessons while I was a freshmen in High School. At that time I was listening to alot of Metallica, Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix and other rock/metal bands. Thus I bought myself a cheap Fender Stratocaster. This guitar was pretty cool and I had funny playing songs like Smells Like Teen Spirit, Little Thing (Hendrix), Bullet with a Butter Fly Wing, Enter Sandman and tons more heavy sounds music.

My setup includes a Fender Strat that was made in mexico, a Fender Princetion Chours Amp and a Yamaha GW-50 Effects Processor. I had tons of fun with this and played guitar for endless hours. Then I went to college and thus couldn't bring all of my equipment. That is when I bought myself an acoustic guitar. My choice was a Gibson Epiphone PR-5E acoustic/electric. This guitar was great at the time, but the music I knew how to play did not really fit the guitar. Though at this time I was listening to more music where the lead guitarist was playing an acoustic. So I started to learn songs by The Dave Matthews Band which later progressed to songs by Howie Day and other bands that have an acoustic sound.

DMB is really intresting music to play. They way chords are made are different then what I had been playing at the time. Most notably the chord voicings Dave Matthews' picks to use. Dave Matthews seems to play more precussion on the guitar if that makes any sence. Either way, I got the hang of his tecnique and became quite good and performing DMB songs.

In the future is still plan to be playing guitar as a hobby, but also buying better equipment with money I have yet to earn is a sure thing. I still want a Gibson Les Paul along with a Marshal amp as that produces a great sound in my mind. Also buying more high quality acoustics like Taylors and Martins, but some of these top of the line guitars can cost upwards of $5,000. That is just too expensive for me at this point. Tho i do have my eye on a Martin D-35 which is about $1600.

Music is still fun though and I will forever be playing guitar and learning new things.
