King Triton is ruler of the ocean and the merpeople. He possesses an incredible amount of power with the use of his trident. He has seven pretty daughters (of which Ariel is the prettiest) who have beautiful voices (but none can sing as well as Ariel!). He’s a stern but loving father, although his ways are a bit unreasonable at times. He thinks all humans are barbarians and ‘spineless-savage-harpooning-fish-eaters!”. He’s more over-protective over Ariel probably because she is his youngest daughter. At the end though, he realizes that he really must let Ariel go and grow up. Triton's voice is played by Kenneth Mars.
