Art and Design at West Ranston

Staff

The Art department is headed by Dr T. Oldman an experienced and committed scholar. He is known for developing special bonds with the students in his care, so special that they frequently refuse to talk about his tutorials because "the world wouldn't understand". Little is known about Dr Oldman's past but in his time here he has certainly become endowed with quite a reputation.

Course

The Course is split into three areas which run concurrently for their duration. The First, 'The Body and Its secrets' attempts to discover the reasons behind the art world's fascination for the Human Form through in-depth analysis and investigation. This element is course-work based and carries no final assessment. The Second element focusses on life-drawing, during which students are encouraged to act as models for each other under the strict supervision of Dr. Oldman. Lastly, the third element remains a bit of a mystery to the University Authorities, but Dr. Oldman assures us it is a highly fascinating and entirely legal section of the course.

Admissions

Applications are considered without bias and will be judged on both academic and personal merit. Certain students may be eligible for the 'Nabokov Scholarship for very very young girls'. This is awarded at Dr. Oldman's discretion. If you feel you may be eligible it is necessary to visit Dr. Oldman in person for interview, results will be published in the Month immediately preceding the beginning of term.
