Adelaide, South Australia

Bicentennial Conservatory: situated in the Adelaide Botanic Garden, open daily 10am-4pm. Botanic Gardens (North Tce, Adelaide) are open 8am weekdays, 9am weekends, until sunset.

The Art Gallery of South Australia: North Tce, Adelaide, open daily (excluding Christmas Day) 10am-5pm. Admission free to permanent collections, admission to some temporary exhibitions. It is divided into three main areas; Australian, European, Asian.

Adelaide Gaol: 18 Gaol Rd, Thebarton, open 11am-4pm weekdays, with tours on Sundays. Night tours available. Opened in 1841 and closed in 1988. Inspect the cells, yards, and artefacts.

South Australian Museum: North Tce, Adelaide, open daily (except Christmas Day & Good Friday) 10am-5pm.

Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute: 253 Grenfell St, Adelaide, open daily 10am-5pm. Gain an understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture and history through the arts.

The Adelaide Festival: held every even year in March. 2000 Festival - 3rd to 19th March. Opera, dance, music, theatre, films, exhibitions, and more, including outdoor events.
