Princess Magazine: London Fashion

This season, Princess Magazine went all the way to London, and brought back some of the latest trends right
off the catwalk and what was found on the streets. The runways showed a variety of styles. Miu-Miu and
Moschino favored calf-length coats, which elongated the silhouette, with short skirts. Faux-fur was also very big for outerwear. Hair was short and straight or neatly pulled back with no special attention drawn to it. The key idea for ready to wear this season is functionality and simplicity to suit our lives.

Shoulders should be uncovered, or at least partly uncovered for the evening. At Jeremy Scott, fashion took a daring turn for fall with bright colors, even for officewear, and completely new styles. The goal was long legs and off-the-shoulder cuts.
Alexander McQueen for Givenchy went for the cut shoulder also, with slimming aqua dresses and halter tops. Tube tops are still hot for fall, especially with suits and knee-length skirts, like at Iceberg. BCBG Max Azria showed cropped button down jackets and skirt lengths from the knees to the ankles.
Leather is also very hot for fall. Everything from western style jackets to evening dresses and sexy pants (a la Olivia Newton-John in Grease). High-heeled boots can be anywhere from the ankle to the knee, to go with almost anything.
The biggest thing on the streets for fall is the highly functional, body-hugging utilitarian look. Designers love it's casual cool, while the wearers love it's functionality. The hidden fastenings add even more chic to it, for a look off the streets that's easy to wear ready-to-wear. Pair it with simple hair and classic makeup.
